Desert III by ValeriyaSegal Desert III by ValeriyaSegal

Desert an Israeli power metal band, at the picture their guitarist Sergei Metalheart.
The photo was taken for the Israeli metal webzine Ov Metal.

I know the band for some years, and always tend to like them but that show was the first time I saw them live, and was surprised by the power and the energy of the concert, it's definitely one of the bands in Israel that knows how to wake up the crowd and keep them alive and kicking!

Anybody who's tried to shoot during a gig knows how difficult it is to handle quick-moving subjects with everchanging lights and, of course, some good music to enjoy. You can't surely ask the musicians to stop for a while to let you shoot, so you have to catch the split moment without a second thought.

It's really great to see such a well shot live photo. Beside the sharpness of the subject, who is perfectly in focus and nod even a tiny bit motion-blurred, the rendition of the lights is amazing, with the musician being correctly lit and the spotlight in the background being dark enough not to distract the viewer; moreover, the rest of the scene is dimly lit to just show the context in which the photo was taken without overwhelming the main subject.
What is remarkable, though, it's the composition, perfectly pyramidal and with small details that point the viewer towards the head of the musician. Getting everything in the perfect place with a moving subject like that truly requires a lot of skills!

Like the way you got the light to reflect off musician bright curly hair and the composition of the photo almost makes you feel the beat of the music.

I say that because ... if you were to listen to all the "Evangelical Christian Propaganda", Israel is a nation of super-religious people who would never listen to such "Evil" music.

Super religious people?!well it depends on where exactly but basically Israel is a free country and no one will kill you if you listen to such "Evil" music :)

Отличная работа: композиция, ракурс, учитывая то, что фото сделано во время концерта и объект не позировал, отличное фокусирование. Молодец!
